Description

PLEASE NOTE: Installing a retrofit kit is a skilled job which should be undertaken only by a competent synth service engineer or installed by us at our premises in Tadworth, just outside London.

Note also that retrofit kits are always built to order after your payment has been processed. It then takes us up to 10 working days to build and test the kit before we can despatch it.

KADI Port

This Socket upgrade adds a KADI port to the TR-808 enabling the individual sounds of the TR-808 to be played using KADI port output of any Kenton device which is fitted with a KADI port. These devices are:
Pro-KADI
Pro-4
Pro-2000 if fitted with the optional KADI port

All eleven sounds can be played individually, with or without accent which is determined by a pre-set velocity level.
While the KADI port is connected to a KADI device the sounds can only be played from MIDI. When the KADI cable is unplugged (or the KADI device is turned off) the TR-808 will revert to normal operation. See the retrofit kit if you need more control.

The kit contains all necessary components and diagrams for connecting the wires / components, and mounting the 15 pin high density D socket.

Note 1): A KADI cable is not included, as this is supplied with the Pro-KADI or optional KADI add-on port for the Pro-2000 (although not with a Pro-4).

Note 2) This is a KADI Socket upgrade and is not what we call a retrofit. The retrofit kit offers a lot more control and features, and allows you to play along with the internal sequences if that is what you want to do, as well as play the sounds individually, with full velocity control. The retrofit is self contained and does not need to be connected to a converter.
