Description

PLEASE NOTE: Installing a socket upgrade kit is a skilled job which should be undertaken only by a competent synth service engineer or installed by us at our premises in Tadworth, just outside London.

There are 4 versions of the ARP Odyssey:

  • Mk1 – Black with a grey face – no CV & Gate input sockets
  • Early Mk2 – Black with gold lettering with no CV/Gate/Trig sockets
  • Later MK2 – Black with gold lettering with CV/Gate/Trig sockets
  • Mk3 – Black with orange lettering – these all have CV/Gate/Trig sockets

Mk1 and early Mk2

Kit to add cv / gate / trig / filter sockets to the Arp Odyssey mk1 (white face)
These sockets are to enable the synth to be controlled using one of our MIDI to CV converters, such as the Pro-Solo mkII, USB-Solo or Pro-2000 mkII (Pro-2000 is recommended for this model as the Solo has only 3 outputs)
Inputs (3.5mm mono jack sockets):
CV provides Volt / Octave control over the oscillator frequency
Gate controls when to play the note
Trig – triggers the ADSR envelope (Kenton converters have a special mode for this)
Filter – controls the cutoff frequency of the low pass filter

The kit contains all necessary components and diagrams for connecting the wires / components, and mounting the four 3.5mm mono jack sockets.

Later Mk2 & Mk3

Kit to add a filter socket to the Arp Odyssey mk3 (black face with orange lettering).
This synth already has suitable CV, Gate and Trig sockets so it is not necessary to add them.

This additional socket will enable the cutoff frequency of the low pass filter of the synth to be voltage controlled. This can be acheived using an aux output of one of our MIDI to CV converters. You can then control the filter cutoff using any continuous controller (cc) or other MIDI messages such as Aftertouch or Velocity.

The kit contains all necessary components and diagrams for connecting the wires / components, and mounting the 3.5mm mono jack socket.
